Genealogy Society of Vallejo-Benicia's August speaker is Candice Buchannan. Her topic is "The Genealogy of a House".
Candice Buchanan is a reference librarian at the Library of Congress, specializing in local history and genealogy. As a teenager in search of a haunted mausoleum she discovered her ancestors’ tombstones, launching a lifelong determination to identify past generations. Buchanan is a board-certified genealogist with a master’s in public history from Duquesne University. Prior to joining the Library, she worked as a genealogist and archivist for Memory Medallion Inc., Genealogists.com and the Greene County, Pennsylvania, Orphans’ Court.
